Chicago
Chicago

Well we've both finally arrived in Chicago. Brian got in last Monday and after visiting his family for a few days, he headed to Moline and Peoria (West Illinois) where he was also able to see work friends in Moline and Peoria (the two cities he worked in prior to Seattle). After that, he made his annual pilgrimage with one of his best friend's, Dave, to Moline to watch the NCAA Tournament. Essentially 3 days of straight drinking beer, eating good ole midwest food, and sitting on a bar stool with your eyes glued to TV screens.

I arrived today (Sunday, March 18th) and we are very excited to begin the first leg of our journey. We are finally beginning and let me tell you, it feels soooooo GOOD to stop planning and get going. I honestly could care less at this point if I forgot my passport...well maybe not my passport...but pretty much anything else. Is there such thing as being over-planned? If so, I'm sure I did it. I think the whole idea of being gone for 14 months creates this paranoia in you where you go through this thought process of "well, what if (fill in the blank) happens? And if (blank) happens, what is the PLAN? So I PLAN for it. Ahhhh.....I'm beginning to really detest the word. Wasn't the point of of taking this trip to not plan? Really, I think eating a bowl of rotting fish may have been more fun at times than my scenario planning. But Brian was patient and kind and understanding....and we are finally here!! Alive, in one piece and we still love each other...for now........
